Plot[]

After losing a contest at the Kids Next Door 2x4 Technology Convention to Sector F, Numbuh 42 gives Numbuh 2 his invention, Tree House Seeds. They start to talk about a “Doctor Time Space and the Continuums” marathon when the rest of Sector V shows up. Suddenly a green, robotic caterpillar-like machine comes to take all of the scientists at the convention, including Numbuh 2. When the rest of Sector V is unable to pull him free of the machine's grip, he takes out his invention, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Booger, and squirts it on the ground to give them more support. After it works, all of Sector V run to their S.C.A.M.P.E.R. and escape.

While the rest of the team wonders why a bunch of 2x4 tech machines attacked them, Numbuh 1 reveals that Central Command had informed him of the existence of "The Splinter Cell," an organization whose goal is to “permanently wipe out all adults,” whether good or bad. Numbuh 4's excited by this, but Numbuh 5 (while hitting him upside the head with her hat) reminds him that their organization only fights evil adults, not adults in general.

Numbuh 1 admits to his teammates that he suspects that Splinter Cell will force the scientists of the KND to build some kind of superweapon. Since Numbuh 2's one of the smartest operatives the KND has ever had (if not the smartest), Numbuh 1's worried that if he ends up getting captured by the Splinter and potentially forced said weapon, they could build almost anything -- to make sure that doesn't happened (along with keeping Numbuh 2 safe), Sector V forces Numbuh 2 to stay with the Amish Kids Next Door (aka, "Sector A") until further notice. Numbuh 2 is dismayed by this, especially after he learns that 2x4 technology (and technology) isn't allowed in the Amish-branch of the KND.

After introducing Numbuh 2 to Numbuhs Ezekiel and Rebecca, Numbuh Jebediah orders him to dress like them and wear a fake beard. He then shows him their tree house, which is still only a shrub.

Later, when Numbuh 2 starts questioning why Sector A doesn't use any 2x4 Technology, Numbuh Jebadiah states that it's better to work with one's own hands than the "lazy" use of machines. Feeling insulted, Numbuh Two pulls out a seed derived from years of hard work by the KND and plants it in Sector A’s outhouse, causing an advanced KND treehouse to instantly grow. As a result of this, the Mechapillers find Sector A and burst out of the ground. When Numbuh 2 is nearly caught, Jebediah gives him his weapon, since he is not bound to their ways. After he breaks free, Jebediah instructs him to run. Numbuh 2 tries to save Numbuh Rebecca from one of the Mechapillers, but she tells him that she’s going with them and that he is too. One of the Mechapillers pops up behind them and Numbuh 42 greets them from inside of it. He clarifies that he and the Mechapillers weren't part of the Splinter but was just a ground KND Scientists who wanted to watch the “Doctor Time Space and the Continuums” marathon without being interrupted or made fun of by the other operatives. Rebecca explains to Numbuh 2 that she's been sneaking off with the scientists to watch some of the episodes and makes Numbuh 2 promise not to tell Jebediah about it. When they ask Numbuh 2 to come with them to watch the show, he readily agrees to it.

In the end credits, Numbuh 2, 34, 42, and Rebecca watch the “Doctor Time Space and the Continuums” marathon on TV.

Trivia[]

  • The Amish Kids Next Door sector go by their actual names instead of numbers (Numbuh Jebediah, Numbuh Rebecca, and Numbuh Ezekiel).
    • Furthermore, all their names are Biblical in origin.
  • Time Card(s) Shown: One Hour Later.
  • It is revealed in this episode how Kids Next Door Sector Treehouses are made: a specially developed treehouse seed is put into a hole in the ground and watered, causing a treehouse to grow in mere seconds.
  • Sector A's S.C.A.M.P.P.E.R. is a non-2x4 technology version of the S.C.A.M.P.E.R.
  • This is the last Numbuh 2-centric episode and the last title to have someone's name in it.
    • This is also the last time Numbuh 2 is seen without his hat.
  • The live-action man who plays Dr. Space-Time is actually storyboard artist Jesse Schmal.
  • This episode aired the day before the premiere of Chowder on Cartoon Network.
  • As noted by Numbuh 5, the KND-organization only fights evil adults (and, presumably, evil teenagers), not just adults (or teenagers) in general.

Goofs[]

  • The scene with the KND Scientists (and Numbuh Rebecca) during the end credits is reused from the Dr. Time Space scene from "Operation: U.N.C.O.O.L.", but with Numbuhs 1, 3, 4, 5, and 78 are replaced with Numbuhs 2, 42, and Rebecca.
    • Because of this, none of the KND scientists are actually seen in the credits, and are instead represented by the Nerd Zombies.
  • Numbuh 34 is also inexplicably present during the end credits.
    • This is most likely an error, due to the aforementioned reuse of previous footage, meaning the animators were either unable to remove him, or that they merely forgot to do so.
    • He could have been forced to attend.
