New Orders - Pulverize Opposition Without Utilizing Hamsters

Operation: N.O.P.O.W.U.H. is a Codename: Kids Next Door episode from Season 1. It first aired on December 13, 2002 on Cartoon Network.

The episode marks the debut of the Toiletnator, and Gramma Stuffum and her army of food.

Information[]

Summary[]

The hamsters that power Sector V's weapons go on vacation because of Numbuh 3 telling them to. Meanwhile, the Delightful Children from Down the Lane looks for villains to attack Sector V, so they send an old lady named Gramma Stuffum, who is fixated on fattening kids, to Sector V's powerless HQ.

Plot[]

The episode begins with the Parent Teacher Organization Of Eradicating Youngsters attacking the Sector V Treehouse and being defeated by the KND's various 2x4 weaponry. Magnifying glass lasers from on top of the treehouse got the Principal, Numbuh 4 got Mad Dad, Numbuh 3 got the Terrible Tutor, Numbuh 2 and Numbuh 5 got the Heli-Teacher, and Numbuh 1 got Midwestern Mom. After the fight, Numbuh 1 asks Numbuh 2 about the ineffective device he used during the battle, and, Numbuh 2 tells him that it is a "rubber band food flinger". Numbuh 1 then scolds him for failing to make better use of their highly advanced resources, showing the team the treehouse's central power core, which contains thousands of Hamsters running around in wheels to power the treehouse and is stated to be the largest power source in the world. Suddenly, the hamsters stop running and scurry out of the treehouse wearing sombreros. Numbuh 3 openly claims responsibility for this, saying that the hamsters deserve a vacation for all their hard work. This causes the treehouse's power to instantly go out but Numbuh 3 didn’t mind.

Meanwhile, in the Delightful Mansion From Down The Lane, the Delightful Children are holding job applications for villains seeking to defeat the Kids Next Door. After the Toilenator is rejected and launched out of the house, an old but large woman called Gramma Stuffum suddenly barges into the room, suddenly wanting to fatten up the Delightful Children with her disgusting food. They tell her that they have just eaten, and that if they eat all her food, there won't be any left for "those poor, starving Kids Next Door", directing her to the location of the treehouse. Gramma Stuffum, Liver and Onions couldn’t wait to fatten up Sector V and started to “prepare a feast”.

Back at the treehouse, Numbuh 3 and Numbuh 5 were using flashlights to tell a scary story and Numbuh 2 and Numbuh 4 were using the flashlights as swords. Numbuh 1 panics at their situation, which leaves them vulnerable to attack. Numbuh 5 asks what's the worst that could happen, which is immediately followed by Gramma Stuffum crashing through the wall behind her ("That could happen.").

She sends her army of living food at the children and unleashed Spinach Men where Numbuh 4 kicked their heads off but grew back and went into his mouth and the gluttonous Numbuh 2 eats the food that is sent at him while the others attempt to fight it by normal means, which proves ineffective. Numbuh 3 ran off from some legs and tried to shoot them with her T.H.U.M.P.E.R. but without the electricity, she couldn’t and they legs forced themselves into Kuki’s mouth. Numbuh 1 was going to use the Energizing Chip Fly Swatter, which was what he used on Midwestern Mom before, on a Cheese Monster but without the electricity, he couldn’t and rolled into Nigel’s mouth and was a little fattened. Numbuh 5 was attacked by a giant cheese sandwich monster that shot out cheese and she was about to shoot it with her S.C.A.M.P.P. but once again, without electricity Abbey couldn’t. Just before the cheese sandwich monster could attack her, Numbuh 2 came to the rescue with his “big appetite”.

His enormous appetite alarms Gramma Stuffum's companions, Liver and Onions, and they push him into the basement to get rid of him. Hoagie slid across the floor into his teammates and the food and rolled down the basement’s stairs. Gramma Stuffum unleashed the “second course” so Numbuh 1, 3, 4, and 5 attacked them but it was no use. The food continues to feed itself to the remaining kids until they are so obese that they're unable to move. Poor Numbuh 1, 3, 4, and 5 were extremely fat and overweight and sleepy. There was nothing they can do and wished that Numbuh 2 was here. As Gramma Stuffum proclaims victory, she realizes that there are only 4 children in the room, and that one is missing. Numbuh 2 then returns to the room, wearing an improvised commando outfit, and continues to eat all the food that is sent his way. Numbuh 2 used his “big appetite” to save his friends and was considered the Kids Next Door’s secret weapon to stop Gramma Stuffum. Hogarth used a whisk, then 2 foot-long bread for a sandwich, and then used mustard and ketchup and then at 2 meat pies but Gramma Stuffum unleashed a wave of food on Numbuh 2. Then Numbuh 1, Numbuh 3, Numbuh 4, and Numbuh 5 watched in horror as their friend poor Numbuh 2 got fattened. Eventually, however, he is unable to eat anymore and falls to the floor. Gramma Stuffum then orders the dessert to be served.

The Liver and Onions order the dessert foods to attack, only to look over and see that they have been eaten by the hamsters, who are back from vacation. The hamsters then proceed to eat the remainder of the food army, and Gramma Stuffum, along with the Liver and Onions, are launched out of the treehouse by the "rubber band food flinger". Gramma Stuffum lands in the Delightful Mansion, where she again sees the Delightful Children and attacks them with her food and fattens them up.

Quotes[]

Numbuh 1: (opening a door) Code red! The Treehouse is under attack! Kids Next Door, battle stations!

Numbuh 4: (holding an electrical S.P.L.A.N.K.E.R.) I'll take care of those study-happy sickos!

[Mad Dad enters through a window behind Numbuh 4, holding a test with a failing grade.]

Mad Dad: Mad Dad Mad! You get bad report card, again!

[Mad Dad lunges at Numbuh 4, who knocks him back with the S.P.L.A.N.K.E.R..]

Numbuh 4: And that ain't my report card, ya nut!

Trivia[]

  • The Parent Teacher Organization Of Eradicating Youngsters is a parody of the PTA (Parent-Teacher Association).
  • According to Mr. Warburton, the Toiletnator was originally going to be a one-time joke but became a recurring character in the series.[2]
  • On the modified version, the Wilhelm Scream is used when one of Numbuh 3's bears hits the Terrible Tutor.
  • Jeff Bennett was not credited for his voice as the Brussels Sprout.
  • An early sketch of the plot had the Delightful Children being informed of the KND's power outage by a robot spy hamster. Another idea was for Gramma Stuffum to have her own spy among the hamsters, which was a ham disguised as a hamster.[3]

Series Continuity[]

Pop Culture References[]

  • The Principle flies around with a red cape, similar to Superman.
  • At one point, Numbuh 2 & Numbuh 4 look like they're pretending to have a lightsaber duel from Star Wars.
  • This episode had a clip seen in the 2004 film Sideways.

Goofs[]

  • Despite the Delightful Mansion From Down The Lane being surrounded by a brick wall and several bushes, none of them are visible behind Gramma Stuffum when she breaks down the door to the mansion. Only a clear view of the Sector V Treehouse is visible.
  • When Gramma Stuffum first breaks down the mansion door, she is only breaking through one wall. But when she starts extracting the liver casserole for the Delightful Children, she appears to have broken through several walls in a row.
  • When Numbuh 1 tells the others to stop fooling around, they go from all holding their own flashlights, to none of them holding any flashlights, in the next scene.
  • Numbuh 2 starts yelling after tripping on a Brussels Sprout, but his teeth are shut the whole time that he's yelling.
