Principal Jack Smelling is Principal Sauerbraten's boss. In Operation: R.E.C.E.S.S. salad dressing was discovered in the playground of Gallagher Elementary School, he ordered Principal Sauerbraten to have it mined so that he could know what he was talking about to the other principals at a banquet later that night. When one of Lizzie's boogers landed in one of the salad dishes, one of the assembled principals discovered this and all the principals left. Thus, Principal Smelling's plan failed and he took his anger out on Principal Sauerbraten. Since the Ice Cream Men serve him as his minions, it is speculated that he may be close friends with Father.
